Seidel Tannery, Based in Milwaukee, WI, Seidel is a fourth-generation family-owned tannery with over 75 years of history making the best leather for work boots in the country. We source all of our 7-8oz oil tanned steer hide leather from Seidel. Along with the different types of leather listed below, Seidel makes our 64 Brown Double Shot leather, an exclusive offering only available at Nicks! 

1964 Leather - Developed in partnership with Nicks and Seidel Tanning, our '64 Leather is tanned with extra oils and waxes to have a bit softer temper. This creates an easier break-in and richer patina over time.

MaxSupport Leather - The classic work leather, MaxSupport Leather is our stiffest and most supportive leather option. Only available in black, MaxSupport is made for the toughest jobs that Nicks has serviced for over 60 years: Wildland Firefighters, Foresters, Loggers, Lineman and anyone else who works in the most demanding environments..

WeatherShield Leather - WeatherShield leather is tanned and impregnated with silicon to create a hydrophobic layer that causes water to bead off of the leather. Weathershield is only available smooth side out due to the waterrepelling properties not being present in the roughout side.
